I wasn't quite happy enough with my attempt at this shot so I decided to post process it differently. I tried using Photomatix to do an enhanced highlights & shadows combine. I also tried to manually merge an image using an underexposed shot for the dramatic sky and a properly exposed shot for the foreground. Each one were an improvement over the original but still not quite what I wanted. One was a little understated and the other one a bit of an exaggeration of the original scene. So I decided to combine the two enhanced attempts in Photoshop and the result was more pleasing! A lot of effort but I think I prefer this version to the original. Please let me know what you think :o)

Night Time Long Exposure

This shot was taken at night in the dark - it required a long exposure to get any light which has resulted in seeing the clouds move quite a bit. I converted it to black and white and I think it gives quite an eerie feel

Avro Vulcan B2 Bomber at Leuchars XH558

The legendary Avro Vulcan bomber as seen at Leuchars Airshow 2008. Unfortunately due to bad weather it was unable to fly but did manage to get down the runway a few times.

The 'Vulcan to the skies' project resurrected this great aircraft but untortunately has run out of funding so this might have been the last attempted flight of this great bomber.
