I recently went for a drive around the South Shields area since I hadnt ventured that way since moving to Gateshead over 6 months ago! I came across a little village called Seaburn and then headed north and found an amazing rock and cliffs standing about 100ft in the air. There were lots of birds around but I didnt get much time to photograph them as my newborn son was starting to get a little restless! I managed to catch this gull but unfortunately due to the bright sunlight he came out a little overexposed.

This guy was looking straight at me when I was taking photos of some Herons on the lake. The goose has come out nice and sharp in this one (especially for 500mm) - view it large for the best look.

Herons are amazingly camoflaged birds - this guy was hard to spot but Bigma managed to pick him out quite well
