I thought I would post this photo to wish all of my contacts a very merry christmas!

This is my baby son Michael sitting with a christmas hat on in front of the xmas tree. I decided to make a selective colour shot to make the hat stand out and added a vignette to emphasise him as the main subject. This was shot wide open with the Canon 'thrifty fifty' 50mm f/1.8 lens - probably Canon's cheapest lens but the quality is very good. I would recommend this lens for all Canon DSLR owners - now theres a christmas gift idea for people!

This is the Queens View between Royal Deeside and Strathdon in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The view looks towards the Grampian mountains and Lochnagar. This was taken with my new Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 IS lens in raw - I then created two exposures and blended them together in Photoshop to give a type of HDR

This is part of a series of photos I will be adding over the next few days. These gulls came and flocked beside us as we were having a picnic. They must have been after our leftovers!
This is another shot with my new Sigma 100-300mm f/4 lens. This is also my first photo that I have added a border to, any comments on this are very welcome!

This has to be the scariest fish out there! It has a long spine out of the front of it which glows mildly to attract its prey. The angler sits in the dark and literally fishes for food, then goes into snap it up. Unfortunately the tank was circular so it was impossible to get a shot without any reflections but this was the best one ( you can see the rainbow-type reflection on the right hand side ).

A Puffin gathering some Sand Eels for food. I didnt know how small and fast these birds are but I managed to get a good shot of this one midflight.

Shot at the Farne Islands just off the Northumberland coast in the North East of England.

This is a re-process of a previous shot as the sky in the previous one had a purple hue as I didnt get the white balance quite right. I am happier with this verion with a nice blue sky.
