In the wee hours this morning I went out to the estuary and captured the arc of the Milky Way. I have long dreamed of photographing this phenomenon. It is possible only for a few months when the Milky Way is visible low on the horizon. It is a challenge in Morro Bay to have a clear sky and at new moon time. It is a blend of 6 shots taken with my Sony a7r3, 16-35 lens, ISO 3200, f/ 2.8, 15 seconds for each shot.
I like how the dancing aurora surrounds the trees. And the stars were amazing this night. It is a challenge to take any aurora shot - you work totally in the dark trying to 'feel' your camera buttons with gloves on. No easy feat when it is 10 or11 degrees out.
