It was an unbelievable day!!! I was able to photograph 10 different whale breaching sequences - and there were several others I didn't get! These are dream shots for me.

What an amazing day we had with the whales yesterday! This young Humpback (nicknamed Barney) gave us quite a show.

After shooting straight up this breaching Humpback "fell" backward into the ocean. They make a huge splash! A few times we were so close that we got misted with water droplets.

After the breach comes the big splash as the whale falls back into the ocean. I wish you could hear the sound this makes too. It's a pretty exiting experience.

This young Humpback whale did a lot of pectoral fin slapping. Some studies suggest that whales 'talk' to each other by slapping out messages on the water.
