This young Red-tailed Hawk took off like a flash. It is amazing how streamlined they are in flight.

I had the best cloud formations on the first day of my trip. I feel I was lucky to have at least one day of clouds. Most of the time when I am in the desert I suffer from what I call the "Blank Blues".

After the rain a few days ago I went out hoping to capture a glorious sunset. That was not meant to be this night. I waited in the deepening dusk as the quiet of night decended and the lights of Morro Bay illuminated. Then the stars began to appear in the darkening sky above. I love these times at the edges of the day. It turned out to be a good evening after all.
