What a treat to have a Great Horned Owl fly onto a nearby perch while on an Alan Murphy photography workshop last week. Before dawn I joined 5 other photographers in a blind and we quietly waited and hoped for such a sighting. We could hear the owls hooting in the surrounding trees. Then with a whoosh she flew down and landed just where we hoped she would. Sony A1, Sony 200-600mm lens, f/6.3, 1/200. At this slow shutter speed I felt lucky to get her face in focus even with her wings still in motion. |
