This picture is absolutely not representative of the ambiance on the famous touristing spot of XingPing, near Guilin in the khastric pics. Along the river I was surrounded by a lot of very noisy chinese tourists. Hopefully it was possible to escape by bicycle But having a quiet moment around the river is difficult.

After the too much touristic Guilin I decided to walk alone in the mountains of the deep Guizhou, the poorest province of China, sleeping in inhabitants houses of The Dong community in very picturesque villages.

The Dong are one of the many different ethic groups called minorities in China, The women are traditionally dressed with blue jacket and do not cut their hair which are among the longest on earth. The traditional Dong house do not have metallic elements, just wood. But today they start to use stone or concrete for the functions of many houses. It is possible to see some Dong in the touristic site of Longsheng in north of Guanxi but I chooses to be in a remote area in order to avoid the Chinese crowds.

This bridge is on of the Dong architecture speciality, the Wind and Rain Bridge.

The Dong women hair are on amongst the longest on earth since they almost never cut it. They attach it very tight on the top of the head.

This woman was the grandma in the first house I spent a night. Her food was delicious like all I hate in the local famillies, always making far better cooking than in the restaurants.

This is the first house I slept in. At the morning the women where working on this grinding machine but I do not know what material they were crushing.
