Whatever Ludwig is best known as an eccentric. For exemple he broken mysteriously his engagement when he was young and never get any woman after. Perhaps he was all his life in love for his cousin. In love with art he commissioned the construction of several extravagant fantasy castles and palaces, the most famous being Neuschwanstein, and was a devoted patron of the composer Richard Wagner. He was arrested for not being able to manage finances of the country.
