One of my favorite and most rewarding shoots from INSEX. Intended as the ‘climax’ of the series, these images are the product of weeks of preparation, featuring over 200 hand-spread butterflies and an indoor-outdoor set I built myself. When I first envisioned this series, these were the photographs that instantly came to mind and served as a basis for building the rest of the concepts around. I couldn’t be happier with how that vision came to life.

On display at Fahey/Klein Gallery in Los Angeles for just two more weeks. It’s worth checking out the massive print in person to really appreciate all of the details up close.
