During my stay on the Canary Island : La Palma, the mountains were often covered in a sheet of clouds. This was one of those days. I was hiking not that high here. When hiking in the mountains the clouds can be beautiful or annoying. There were often periods of hiking inside clouds making it impossible to view anything.

I witnessed this spectacular scene from above the clouds in which it looks like a small island is getting eaten by a big wave.

La Palma has very rough volcanic landscapes. As you can see here, there are wide areas of black lava parts with almost no trees. This is at higher altitude. Here the sea of clouds splits the beautiful landscape in 2. The tops at the back are the Caldeira and the Roc de los Muchahos.

I had full moon most of my holiday so I didn't get to do as much astrophotography as I initially wanted to. I still managed to take this shot in between a sunset and a moonrise. Timeframe was less than an hour. 30 minutes after this shot the full moon rose and made it almost impossible to shoot any stars let alone the MW.

This is a Panorama of 4 stitched Images to a 16:9 vertical ratio. I shot it with the Leica because the stars came out so much sharper as with a wide angle lens.

On the way back of a hike, the fog of the clouds and the low sun made for some beautiful light rays.
