This Praying Mantis was sheltering on our wall the other day during the rain and wind, almost looks like an alien I think.

Did you know that Mantis have four little arms called palps around their mouth, two attached to the upper jaw and two to the lower.

This is my post for the Definitely Dreaming Week 15 theme of "Just One".

The Mosaic Macro Monday theme for today is "Plum Purple". I tried to think of some purple objects around the house that would make a good montage, but came up blank, so have made this abstract pattern from two of my original photos in Photoshop and with the help of an iPad app. The two photos, are (and were intended to be) obviously unrecognizable.

I call this work "Deep Purple" after one of my favourite bands. If you're looking for some musical accompaniment for the next eight minutes or so, click the link below, a rendition of one of my favourite Deep Purple songs, Lazy, by one of the best guitarists around Joe Bonamassa and Australia's own Jimmy Barnes. Quite a long intro on this one, Jimmy doesn't come in until about the 4:30 mark, worth the wait though.
