Valley of Fire State Park is a public recreation and nature preservation area covering 19 000 ha and is located 26 km south of Overton, Nevada. The state park derives its name from red sandstone formations, the Aztec Sandstone, which formed from shifting sand dunes 150 million years ago. These features, which are the centerpiece of the park's attractions, often appear to be on fire when reflecting the sun's rays. It is Nevada's oldest state park.
Rainbow Vista Trail is 1.8 km out and back trail and starts from a scenic viewpoint that offers a panoramic view of the rainbow-colored rocks that give this trail its name. You will see shades of red, pink, yellow, white, and even purple on the surrounding cliffs and domes.
Evening. It was not in my initial plans, but all the other trails in park were closed beacause of fire hazard.

Madidi is a national park in the upper Amazon river basin in Bolivia. It has an area of 18,958 square kilometres, and, along with the nearby protected areas Manuripi-Heath, Apolobamba, and (across the border in Peru) the Manu Biosphere Reserve, Madidi is part of one of the largest protected areas in the world.
Yellow-spotted Amazon River turtle females lay two clutches of eggs each year, each with four to 35 eggs in it. They make their nests in sandy areas on the banks of rivers, where the eggs will hatch 66 to 159 days after they are laid. The eggs are laid at the peak of dry season so the nest will not be washed away with the floods of the rainy season. Eggs incubated below 32 degrees Celsius will hatch as males, while those incubated above 32 degrees Celsius will hatch as females. Within a few days after hatching, the young turtles begin to forage for food alone. This food includes vegetable matter, grasses, fruits, leaves, carrion and mollusks.
