In the secret garden she fell in love with the tall stone walls and the safety they provided. Soon, the bare garden began to grow. Slowly it pulled itself a bit more towards the top of the walls, reaching for warmth. For life. The girl hadn't noticed the vines begin to entwine her, ensnare her. Bond her to the garden. She hadn't felt the soft velvet of the underleaves until they laid upon her bare arms, but she was grateful for their warmth. They too offered her a safety she could not only see, but feel, so she thanked the leaves, letting her tears fall freely onto their ever thirsty heads. The garden grew. The girl remained, shrinking ever so slightly each time the sun sailed over her head, it's passing unnoticed. She began to feel the loneliness like a slight tear at the bottom of page that quietly becomes a gash, rendering the paper, unusuable, but the garden grew with a rapacious hunger. She watched with eyes wide as the green ropes reached above her until she could no longer see anything but their twisting fingers clutching to each other, still reaching higher. And the girl was no more. Only the garden remained.

I am learning/teaching myself new retouching techniques and went back to the images I shot of Savannah demonstrating at the Model Workshop we hosted last year.

Sometimes an image tells a story. And sometimes the words just slip out.
