Cabo do Sao Vicente in Sagres, is the far South West corner of Portugal, marked by this lighthouse. This was taken just before Sunset.

This is an image I posted several years ago, and looking back I was not at all happy with the post processing. So I decided to give it another try. I took this as the ferry was sailing into Gothenburg harbour, but I believe the boats don't pass by here any longer, which I think is a shame.

The lighthouse on Ameland is known as Bornrif. It is 55m high and was built in 1880. Nowadays it has retired from function and has become a tourist attraction. One can climb the 236 steps to the top and enjoy the view.

Hammeren Fyr is the name of this old lighthouse on the northern tip of the Danish island of Bornholm. It is no longer in use. Bornholm lies in the Baltic Sea, just under Sweden and is mostly ignored by tourists from outside the Scandinavian area. It covers an area of just under 600 km². The island has a lovely coastline dotted with many picturesque villages.

Sunset in Plougonvelin, Finistere at pretty much the most western point of France. This is Pointe San Mathieu with a new lighthouse (1835) built between the ruins of an old Benedictine Abbey. The former lighthouse is also is also still present and is restricted military area.
