Two years ago I was visiting the Balkan countries. The only thing missing from my Croatia album was a photo of the famous Plitvice Lakes, and I do think they belong here. To be honest, I was more impressed with the Krka waterfalls, of which I posted a photo before. However I do think the fall colours in the Plitvice park were stunning.

This was my first attempt at photographing a waterfall with long exposure. It wasn't easy to find a good spot, as many spots had shrubbery in front and the best spots were from a wooden bridge that trembled every time people walked over. Finally I managed to secure a stable spot just under the bridge, with the tripod standing in the water!
Krka is a national park in central Croatia and is becoming more and more known to the public, attracting increasing numbers of visitors. It is a beautiful park with a walkway that meanders between the rapids and the waterfalls eventually leading to this one, the biggest fall of them all.

Omis lies on the Croatian coast, not far from Split, at the mouth of the Cetina River. For the best views you can climb up to Mirabela Castle. There is an entrance fee, but they let you stay there until dark to enjoy the beautiful Sunset view.
