Russian Kaliningrad is a Russian exclave, sandwiched between Poland and Lithuania. Before World War 2 it was German/Prussian territory and the city was named Königsberg. Very little remains of that period. Kaliningrad still has a lot of the typical Soviet/Russian drabness but it is trying hard to improve its looks. On the photo you see "Fish Village" an newly built up waterfront area that boasts a number of nice cafes and restaurants and is trying to create tourist interest.

One of the things I enjoyed most during my Spring trip to Belarus, was the lovely Orthodox churches. This is a close up of the Saint Nicolas Church in the centre of Brest. I was in a group tour, which is actually the enemy of any decent photography, but I will try to find some more images of this fascinating country which I consider worth posting here.

A blue hour overlooking several churches in the town of Vitebsk, in the northern part of Belarus. A lovely town that is very proud of the fact that painter Marc Chagall was born and raised there.
This is one from the archives, and since there won't be any traveling in the near future, I will take the opportunity to reprocess and post some images taken during earlier travels.
