Loch Beg, Mull, Scotland, 2019.

We spotted this beautiful Otter someway off shore so we patiently waited to see what it would do. We then followed on foot until it came up onto some small rocks. I was laying down in the grass, with my head slightly raised when all of a sudden the Otter almost ran straight into me. Obviously spooked it made a hasty retreat into the water but it came up again a short distance away . By this time we were on the waters edge crouching behind some rocks in direct sunlight, which as you know makes for difficult photography. The Otter kept sniffing the air so it knew we were around but it couldn't see us. It then gave us a fabulous grooming display before returning to the water and disappearing.
