Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain 20221125

The Vinicunca is the famous 'Rainbow Mountain' that has quickly become a compulsory stop for visitors to the Cusco area, with thousands of tourists traversing its colourful terrain every day for about four hours on high altitude slopes.
However, it is not the only one. There is in fact another one, still little known and very similar to it: Palcoyo, which has recently become the most popular alternative. It attracts attention not only because of its similarity to Vinicunca, but also because it offers an incredible landscape of unique colors, derived from mineral deposits and their shades: the ocre of sulfur, the red of iron, the blue of cobalt. You can also appreciate a rock forest with huge rocky peaks that look like a geological maze.
