I was in the middle of installing a dryer vent in the rain, when the sun suddenly appeared. My first thought: Rainbow! Sure enough, there was a huge one. But my neighborhood isn't really good composition with a rainbow, so I hopped in the car and raced downtown.

The rainbow disappeared just as I was parking. :(

So I shot this instead. I kind of feel like I'm in that HDR hole:

Processing:
18 photos total (6 positions, 3 exposures each). Imported into Lightroom to remove vignette and lens distortion. Exported to Photomatix for HDR processing (Painterly preset with natural light). Merged all the HDRs in Photoshop into the panorama and added a high pass filter (with hard light blending) for a little sharpness. Imported back into LR3 and added vignette.

As a note, this image is copyrighted. Seriously, this is copyrighted. This means you can't use it for your business. Or political campaign. If you wish to license it, email me.

The company I work for builds the avionics for this bad boy, and I had the honor of designing it's flight guidance system. When the Coast Guard sent one down to us for show & tell, I couldn't resist bringing my camera.

Photomatic HDR, imported into PS, removed lots of people, changed out the sky and most of background. Originally done completely in B&W, but I added a bit of color back in.

The last (and I think best) of the high-key paint-on-a-speaker series. This is also my last shoot with my home-built sound trigger, as a new StopShot was delivered on my doorstep today.

Some of my Best Shots
