The shrine parishioners carry the mikoshi portable shrine from Shiogama Shrine to the Shiogama bay on the ship and march through the town.
And at the early evening they come back to Shiogama Shrine and climb the stone 202 steps carrying the portable shrine.
The weight of the portable shrine is 1000kg(2204lb).

You can see the another mikoshi portable shrine and the children in front of the mikoshi.
They have each small table called Sanpou in Japanese filled with salt.
They throw salt to purify in front of mikoshi.
