Dorbandt House just outside Marble Falls, known as the “Bluebonnet House,” belonged to Christian Dorbandt, a Danish immigrant who arrived in the U.S. in 1834 and built the two-story limestone house in 1853 after a storied career in the military and with the Texas Rangers.
This may be the most photographed house in Texas and definitely is in The Texas Hill Country. You will find photos of it for sale on everything from Calender's to coffee cups.
I posted a picture last year but the Bluebonnets are better this year.

Bluebonnet House (mid-19th century)
4554 N. US Highway 281
Marble Falls, Burnet County

Built in the mid-19th century, this two-story limestone vernacular house is one of the most photographed houses in Texas. Fields of bluebonnets surround this important early Texas house which is suffering from the ravages of time. The historic context of this house is also being lost as surrounding fields are developed for commercial and industrial purposes.

Documentation and development of a preservation plan for the house, studied in context with other limestone structures in the region, will provide a direction for the future of this landmark on Highway 281. Through the hard work of preservationists in Texas, the house will one day bloom again as proudly as the bluebonnets that surround it.

I went to the airshow but decided not to take many photos. I wanted to just watch the show and it was awesome.

Large view is better.

C. S. Lewis notes, "Once in our world a stable had something in it that was bigger than our whole world."

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas season.

I think you can see why I married this beautiful woman 57 years ago. This family photo was taken in 1967. Where has the time gone :-) These are our children. Janay and Kel. I have been greatly blessed.
