Fluidr / SKYBUDDY by Grudnick

This is my first Hallicrafters, now that is meaningless to non-radio geeks, and laughable to the cognoscenti. It is an American made, five tube shortwave radio, probably their least sophisticated but still popular. More precisely this is a S-19R with a toggle switch for the standby-receive The Hallicrafters S - 19 Sky Buddy, Manufactured in Chicago, Illinois ca. 1937. Tubes are 6K8, 6L7, 6Q7, 6K6, 80. It was cheap-ish, $29.95, inflation adjusted $250. aquired $30 in 2022, it's cute, and it works, not very well, but it works ! It is a solidly built, underperforming shortwave radio, with really nice audio.
