My dad, David Dunsmuir, served in the Royal Army Service Corps (RASC) as part of the British VIII Army as a Staff Sergeant during WWII in Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt and Italy. He took part in the Allied landings (Operation Avalanche) at Salerno in Italy where he met my mother...sadly both no longer with us. Fondly remembered on this poignant day.
