Been wanting to see this phenomenon for a long time, actually it was ever since I saw picture of it. I have to say seeing it in person, no picture can do it justice. If Horsetail Fall is flowing in February and the weather conditions are just right, the setting sun illuminates the waterfall, making it glow orange and red.

This is what the Daily Mail said about this place.

"This mystical beacon of light shining through the arch looks like it has come straight out of an Indiana Jones film.

But rather than be created with special effects, the orange glow is a natural phenomenon that only occurs during a few weeks of every year.

Capturing the stunning and rare light on camera is one of biggest trophies for nature photographers in the U.S."

I had a chance to go today...the pick light supposed to be on Dec 21, the winter solstice but Since we are expecting many days of rain I didn't take a chance. It wasn't perfect but I was lucky enough to catch the light through the hole.
