The icelandic waterfall Skogafoss serves very well as a background for portraits - although it can be a very wet place :)

Vestrahorn is one of the iconic photo locations in Iceland. At our last visit to Iceland I missed this spot and was excited about visiting it this time. My weather app predicted me two hours of partly cloudy weather in the very early morning and then only rain for the next days. So I got up at 3am in the hope to get some pictures. I had about 1 hour with more or less clear view on the mountains. After this hour the peaks vanished in the clouds and the rainy weather started. We stayed in this area for a couple of days, but the peaks were always hidden in the clouds.

There is a very nice hike on the cliffs of Vik, from where I photographed these sea stacks, called Reynisdrangar.
In 2016 I took a similar shot, which I like, but I wanted it in a better quality - this time as a long exposure.

What may look like a picture from the zoo, is actually a wildlife encounter. Close to the village of Bakkagerdi is a colony of puffins on a peninsula. There you can come very close to these cute birds, so that you could almost pet them.

The geyser Strokkur is probably one of the most photographed subjects in Iceland. But to stand next to it, when he erupts is a pretty spectacular experience. My 16 year old son says, that the geyser was the most impressing attraction of Iceland.
