Today is not only Wednesday, but Hump Day, too (which I've learned from Aurelia: 1crzqbn). Hump Day refers to the middle of the work week. But for this tree? It's Hmpf! Day. Every single day ;-)

Taken on Good Friday at the garden of the Charlottenburg Palace - a week before spring arrived and nature "exploded".

7DWF, Saturdays: Fauna

No bunny or egg for Easter, but a simple fun snapshot of two sparrows taken at the garden of the Charlottenburg Castle on Good Friday, when the sun showed up in the afternoon. This evergreen conifer was the only green, yet, all the other trees and shrubs are still leafless. And no egg? Wait a minute, the birds are very busy already, and there was one sparrow snugly sitting in the conifer (didn't look into my direction unfortunately), and one sitting on top of it, both merrily chirping away. Eggs in the making, if you don't mind me saying so. Soon there will be many baby sparrows (and other birds - the great tit couple that was nesting on my balcony last year is back, too), and nature will explode once it's getting warmer.

Kein Häschen oder Ei zu Ostern, sondern ein einfacher Spaß-Schnappschuss von zwei munteren Spatzen in und auf einer immergrünen Konifere (momentan noch das einzige Grün weit und breit). Aufgenommen im Park des Schlosses Charlottenburg an Karfreitag, als sich die Sonne mal blicken ließ. Der Spatz, der in der Konifere saß, schaute leider nicht in meine Richtung, aber ich denke, dass man ihn trotzdem gut sehen kann (weiter heranzoomen ging leider nicht). Und Moment mal, kein Ei? Spatzen legen schließlich auch Eier und sie sind schon fleißig mit dem Nisten beschäftigt. Eier im Entstehen, gewissermaßen ;-)

For Smile on Saturday's "Season's Beauty" theme.

If you take a closer look, you will find one or more faces here ;-). The one I saw immediately, and which made me take this capture,
is that of a grumpy man in profile. I love gnarly old trees, they are beautiful in any season. Here the fresh leaves add a nice splash of colour to "his face". The phenomenon of seeing faces in things is called "pareidolia" (Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareidolia ), something that I learned here on Flickr. To find faces or shapes of things in clouds or trees is fun and always makes me smile.

In diesem alten Baum verstecken sich ein oder auch mehrere Gesichter. Eines fand ich besonders markant und es sprang mir auch gleich ins Auge, als ich den Baum von der Seite sah, es sieht ein wenig wie ein mürrischer Herr im Profil aus. Das Phänomen, Gesichter oder Figuren / Gegenstände in Dingen zu sehen, wird "Pareidolie" (Wikipedia: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareidolie ) genannt, das habe ich erst hier auf Flickr gelernt.
