This is an old photo but we have been getting quite of bit of snow these past few days. Honestly though, I love snow!
Sorry I haven't been around much but things will change after Christmas. I have made a huge decision. I am quitting my job. I have found that the demands of work and too many late nights have interfered too much with the needs of family. I can't continue to juggle everything and keep my sanity so something had to go. I hate feeling stressed all the time because I can't get everything done at home in the time that I have. I tried to negotiate with work to let me stay on a part time basis but they wouldn't accept my offer and still required me for some evening time. Nope! No more...I need (and want) to be home with my kids at night. December 24th is my last day on the job. I hated leaving because I knew I was letting down some great people but my job was just a job. My #1 job is to be a mom and my top priority is my family. I am really excited to be spending the Christmas break with my kids and welcoming in the new year and seeing what 2014 can bring. Change is good...bring it on! :)

Well, I made it to day 100! Woot! For anyone doing a 365 this is considered a big milestone and that feels pretty darn awesome! =D
I really didn't give it much thought as to what to do for my 100th photo. I was kind of waiting to see what today would be like. Wondering if something cool was going to happen or whether the weather (ha!) would be nice, etc. Anyways, it was a gorgeous, sunny and warm day (for most of it, rain has since moved in). It is getting close to flip flop weather (so Awesome!) and for me, well, that is reason for celebrating! =D
So I decided to put these two awesome factors together into one photo. I broke out my flip flops for the first time this year (and the sidewalk chalk) and photographed this milestone.
Happy 100th day of 2014 everyone! I would also like to thank all of you for your continued friendship and support during my 365 photography journey.

Yesterday my family had Easter dinner at a Chinese buffet restaurant (we were also celebrating my parents wedding anniversary). This was the fortune my son Jake had received. We all laughed as it suited him perfectly since he is always asking for things...I think he finally understands this message as we have already been telling him this over and over every time he asks for things he doesn't necessarily needs, but wants. I also think this message is a good reminder to us all. =)
While we were arriving at the restaurant I happened to see a homeless man sitting on a curb at the end of the parking lot. He was holding a sign stating that he was homeless and hungry and could we spare some change...In this day and age I seem to only have plastic cards in my wallet and not much money but I was able to find almost three dollars in change. Seeing as we were about to go inside this restaurant to eat and stuff ourselves silly I couldn't help but think about this man who likely hasn't eaten anything at all that day. I wanted my kids to see an act of kindness which I was about to do and hope that they learn that there are a lot less fortunate people than us in the world and that we must help each other when we can. I asked the kids if either one of them wanted to go give this man the money but they were too shy so I did it. I walked up to the man and said "Hi, I am sorry I don't have much but is this ok?" and he stood up, said hello back, took my money and thanked me graciously and wished each other a Happy Easter. =)
I was so happy Jake was given this fortune...it couldn't have come at a more perfect time. =)

I love doing photos like these...I enjoy editing and adding personal touches to them like quotes, etc. =)
We certainly have had our fair share of rain lately and I don't believe it is ending anytime soon. Today it rained for most of the day but then the sunshine peaked through the clouds at dinnertime. That meant that the kids soccer was not cancelled. I took Ashley to her away game and Gary took Jake to his practice at the home field. The soccer season will now keep us busy three nights a week from now until the wrap up tournament in mid August.
I hope you are all having a good week...mine has been busy, nothing new there lol, so I am a day behind with uploading this. =)
