A couple of days ago I thought of a way to use the tools of photoshop to do some fractal folding. I call this one the 3 way mirror fold. In the left image of Jan 25A an interesting sunlit tree has been surrounded with a black border. 3 random points have been chosen, (shown here as the points of the green triangle). Read more on Jan 25B.

Continued from Jan 25A. I put some colours in the background to show how this 3 way fold works, (some textures of moss, bark, flower, & water were added). I created 4 image files, pink blacked out, yellow blacked out, blue blacked out, & the fourth just the green triangle. The green triangle was flipped horizontally, like you would see it in a mirror & lots of black border added. Then I used the magic wand tool to select the black border of one of the other 3 files. Then inverse selected to grab just the coloured part, copied to clipboard, & pasted to green triangle image. Read more on Jan 25C.

Continued from Jan 25B. Using the + tool, clicked on the center to get drop down menu & selected rotate. Rotated & moved to fit & layer flattened to weld in place. Then I repeated with the other 2 image pieces to get the image shown on the right of Jan 25A. I repeaded the whole process, (choosing 3 new random points), to transform right Jan 25A into left Jan 25B. Then repeated again to get the final 2 images, (right Jan 25B & Jan 25C). One reason it looks so organic is because the random points change the geometry a bit.
