First day to celebrate the centenary of the Royal Australian Navy's fleet arrival in Sydney Harbour on 4 October 1913.
We were greeted by firstly sunshine, then hail, followed by rain when the 10+ tall ships finally arrived.
I was cowering under a big tree.
Seen here is Australian tall ship Soren Larsen sailing under the bridge.
Notice Bridge Climb was still happening at the time.

The Australian-built replica of James Cook's HMB Endeavour on its way to berth at the Australian National Maritime Museum.
The B (in HMB) stands for Bark. In the 18th century, a ship with a flat bow and square stern was called a bark.
Its masts and spars carry 28 sails

Australia's Winward Bound is a brigantine, i.e. a vessel with two masts, only the forward of which is square rigged.
She has circumnavigated Australia and has sailed to New Zealand and back.

Australia's Southern Swan is a three-masted Barquentine.
Built in Denmark in 1922, she is normally berthed at Campbell's Cove, The Rocks.
She is the only ship in Sydney to offer the Mast Climb, an ascent up the rope ladder rungs to the Futtock Plate.

60-ton Tasmanian tallship Lady Nelson is a 1988 full-size replica of the original 1799 brig (vessel with two square-rigged masts).
She is based at the waterfront of the city of Hobart.
