The name Wadi Musa means Valley of Moses in Arabic. It was reported that prophet Moses passed through the valley and struck water from the rock for his followers at the site of Ain Musa (Moses Water Spring).
Wadi Musa is the nearest town to the archaeological site of Petra.

Petra Archaeological Park
Beginning of a journey 2,600 years back in time in the capital city of the Nabataean Arabs.
These people carved a vast, unique city (an area of 264,000 sq. m.) into sheer rock faces.
This place has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985.
In 1989, it made its Hollywood debut in the film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
BBC rated it as one of the 40 places you must visit before you die.
LPlater reckons it is 10 times more interesting than the over-rated Grand Canyon.
Behind the tourist group are the Djinn Blocks. The two americans on horse backs are from our tour group.
