Jardine House (怡和大廈), formerly known as Connaught Centre (康樂大廈), is a 52-storey office tower. From 1973 to 1980, it was the tallest building in Hong Kong and Asia.
The building is constructed with a metal frame, and a curtain wall with round windows. Construction took a mere sixteen months, a record at that time.....[Wikipedia]

International Finance Centre by night.
This is a kind of optical illusion. There is nothing in common between the two buildings other than they are both upright. They are not next to each other and they don't slope upwards at the same angle.

Tower 2 IFC, currently Hong Kong's tallest building, is quoted as having 88 storeys and 22 high-ceiling trading floors to qualify as being extremely auspicious in Chinese culture.
It is, however, short of the magic number, due to the fact that "taboo floors" like 14th and 24th etc are omitted as being inauspicious.
It is the exact height of the former World Trade Center.

With 88 floors, IFC is the second tallest building in Hong Kong, behind the newly erected International Commerce Centre (with 108 floors) in West Kowloon. I reckon it is still the most impressive looking skyscraper in this city.

A panoramic view of Victoria Harbour from Hopewell Centre in Wanchai. As you can see, much of the harbour view was blocked by high-rise buildings. The smog was carried from China via northerly winds.
