This morning was another Merganser day with this time around, a Juvenile Common Merganser and a female Hooded with 3 babies... I following this young one for a long time hoping it will do the torpedo style which the Red-Breasted had not done. The Common Merganser is quite common during the summer here. There is a park I usually go for them when there is nothing else because I have been shooting these guys for years. Well, this little girl sure made me laugh. First I have no clue if she went for the fish or she was swimming too close to it but the only thing I hear is the great splash and water everywhere I could not make it at first and was hoping it was not a huge snapping turtle trying to catch her... So I keep on shooting and saw something flying which I thought was a big fish but never expected to see it ... The Mergenser's reaction was so funny with her big eyes and trying to get out of there as fast as possible... anyhow one needed to be there to see but I think we see her reaction in this and other photos...
