Ante Benedikt Kurilić is an emerging Croatian multidisciplinary artist currently working and living in Toronto. He completed his BFA degree in the Sculpture/ Installation program from OCAD University in 2020. He creates composited artworks that question the impacts of human actions on their environments, exploring the identity of belonging and the absence of dreams.

Artist Statement:

In this work the experience of quiet desperation faced by immigrants to Canada in precarious states of naturalisation is explored through the symbolism of the Saltwater Crocodile. Lying in wait, unobservable to those around you, the burden of histories and homeland pulls you back to a difficult past left suspended in your absence.

Stephane Langlois completed a diploma in sculpture in 2002. Working metal, LANGLOIS has participated in several symposiums and his work has been seen in several solo, collective exhibitions and public art. Awarded several times, LANGLOIS was born in 1969, he lives and works in Neuville near Quebec City.

Artist Statement:

Coming from a rural environment, the elements of nature represent for Stéphane LANGLOIS a primary source of inspiration. Fluidity, spontaneity, and the organic aspect influence his projects throughout the creative process. Over the years, he has developed personal techniques that are transmitted in his art.

Nancy Benoy is a self-taught artist working in acrylic, watercolour, and reclaimed materials. This Hamiltonian is recognized for abstract works driven by curiosity of colour and shape to create joy. She is an acclaimed arts educator and advocate with 20 years of experience spreading her enthusiasm.

Artist Statement:

Curiosity is at the core of my art practice. I am influenced by colour, line and shape and their interaction to create pieces that spark sustained observation and joy. Sustainability has guided me into using offcuts and paints destined for the landfill to elevate the discarded and unwanted.
