German Police Chief (COL) Stefan Beil speaks with JMTC Government Relations Advisor Jim Federline during a VBS2 demonstration at the JMTC’s Joint Multinational Simulation Center.
VBS2 is a comprehensive high resolution virtual environment where individual or collective training
can created and be conducted. VBS2 training prepares participants for real-life challenges taking place in a life-like virtual world in which they operate within it from a first person perspective.
The Joint Multinational Simulation Center, also known by its acronym JMSC, hosted a delegation of 3 German Police Chiefs from the Bavarian Oberpfalz, Polizeidirektor Ludwig Härtl,
Polizeidirektor Michael Holzner, Polizeidirektor Stefan Beil, as well as a leading member of the
Oberpfalz Police Council, Markus Völkl. Together the four toured JMSC, located on the Grafenwoehr Training Area at Camp Aachen May 16, 2013, to see firsthand the possibilities offered by incorporating simulations-based training such as VBS2 and other simulations-based programs into their expanded police training curriculum.
JMSC is a facility of the Joint Multinational Training Command, the U.S. Army's largest overseas training command, and regularly provides U.S. and international Soldiers facilities and opportunities to train in a sophisticated, complex, and real-time battle/conflict environment.
