The Environmental Security workshop, hosted byU.S. AFRICA Command and supported by the
U.S. Army in Europe Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) Program, was held in
Nairobi Kenya the week of 23 May. The workshop's intent was to improve
environmental awareness and enhance environmental cooperation with the Kenya
Ministry Defense Force. USAREUR ITAM supported this event with a series of
presentation modules designed to share best practices to enhance sustainable
operations of military training areas. Workshop participants included a
variety of military and non-military organizations, as well as
non-governmental organizations (NGO).
