Barack Hussein Obama II has been elected 44th President of the United States. It says a lot about how far we've come as a nation that we can elect a minority President, while just four decades ago many places in America still had institutional segregation in place. We still have a long way to go to reconcile race relations, but this is definitely a big step for the better.
Here's to the future -- may a new beginning bring about the change that he has promised, and may all of us come together and support our new President during this time of crisis.
