Mason Neck National Wildlife Refuge is renowned for its bald eagle habitat program. The area is home to several nesting pairs and hosts many wintering eagles during the cold weather months.

I actually saw three eagles this morning (two adults and an immature) -- but I heard them screeching before they appeared. They never came in close enough for a good shot.
