Looks freaky and fearsome, don't it? Wasps are neat little insects.
And it looks like it has a spider wrapped around its underside. Hmm... maybe a battle? I didn't have a chance to find out -- another wasp flew in and started fighting almost immediately after I snapped this pic. Turns out that mud dauber wasps feed on spiders! Unlike paper wasps and yellow jackets, mud daubers are not aggressive and won't sting you unless you handle them roughly.
