Pobeda TTK-1

Already shown here: flic.kr/p/nEgkMR

Flickr Friday: #LessIsMore : www.flickr.com/photos/flickr/19147204359

Brand : Pobeda (Victory)
1st State Precision Jewel Cutting Factory (ТТК-1)
Year: T3 1954
Caliber: 2602 41M 32yH 15 jewels

TTK-1... Five magic letters for a Soviet watches collector. Engraved on movement, marked on dial under index 6.
The story of brand Pobeda is explained here : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pobeda_%28watch%29
But, There is a small inaccuracy in the list of plants that produced Pobeda watches. The first name of Petrodvorets Watch Factory (near Leningrad) was "Первый Государственный завод точных технических камней" 1st State Precision Jewel Cutting Factory (ТТК-1).
During 1954 (1955 ?), the brand TTK-1 stopped being used by the factory, when the "automated assembling conveyor" was completely in production. Before, a TTK-1 was assembled from A to Z by a single worker, as explained in this Raketa video : www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=_Goy2...

The story of Pobeda TTK-1 goes on (Raketa new collection) : www.raketa.com/chasyi-pobeda-novaya-kollektsiya/
A big thanks to my compatriot Jacques von Polier

Made in 1MWF (First Moscow Watch Factory - Первый Государственный Часовой Завод - 1ГЧЗ)
Gold plated case (35mm diam.). Guilloche square pattern on dial.
Automatic caliber 2415 "orbita" 29 jewels. The smallest and thinest Soviet automatic caliber ever produced (1962 - 1970?)
Dm= 24.0mm, Do= 24.6mm rotor revolution circle D= 28.05mm) H= 3.9mm F= 0.75mm T= 1.35mm 29 jewels f = 18000 A/h power reserve 36h

"...The self-winding gear is integrated in the movement, instead of attaching it to a manual-wind calibre as usual. Together with other design details, this led to a sensationally thin but still rugged movement at that time. Only contemporary movements with micro rotor (e.g. Buren) were thinner..."

This little watch is born the fourth quarter of year 1952, in the Chistopol Watch Factory (USSR, now Bielorussia).
The Pobeda "Red 12" was produced to celebrate the victory in the Great Patriotic War.

"Pobeda (Russian: Победа, Victory) is a Russian brand of wrist- and pocket watches. Based on a French LIP design, the Pobeda's simple, 15-jewel movement was cost-effective, reliable, and easy to manufacture and maintain. Watch produced from 1946."

"I have a real soft spot in my heart for Rodinas. They embody everything I like about Soviet industrial and design philosophy -- Ruggedness and practicality."
(Mark Gordon (Welcome to USSR Time!) July 9th, 2007 forums.watchuseek.com/f10/rodina-appreciation-thread-7271...)

"The Rodina was the Soviet Union's first automatic wristwatch.
It was produced at the First Moscow Watch Factory from 1956 through the early 1960s.
Depending on who you are talking to, the 22-jewel movement is designated 2415A or yH-9M (41yH)
Over about 15 years a huge quantity of these watches were produced, including export versions, with several different dial designs.
Eventually this movement was replaced by sleeker calibers such as the 29-jewel 2415 and 29-jewel 2416."
(Mark Gordon (Welcome to USSR Time!), June 8th, 2010, forums.watchuseek.com/f10/solid-gold-automatic-rodina-409...)
