"I have a real soft spot in my heart for Rodinas. They embody everything I like about Soviet industrial and design philosophy -- Ruggedness and practicality."

"The Rodina was the Soviet Union's first automatic wristwatch.
It was produced at the First Moscow Watch Factory from 1956 through the early 1960s.
Depending on who you are talking to, the 22-jewel movement is designated 2415A or yH-9M (41yH)
Over about 15 years a huge quantity of these watches were produced, including export versions, with several different dial designs.
Eventually this movement was replaced by sleeker calibers such as the 29-jewel 2415 and 29-jewel 2416."
