January 27th. Its song lyric theme week for 365:2013. I thought excitedly what a great theme and then I over complicated it .........
I love music, all sorts of music; so I thought should I do a theme (days of the week?), my favourite songs, my favourite band, favourite album? should I do songs that have personal meaning?
And then Sunday happened.
My husband is working this weekend so I am sole parenting. It was rugby this morning - at Perranporth. There is a small nature reserve at the back of the club so I walked round to take some grass shots in the sun (which was lovely). Whilst standing there amongst the rustling grass a song came to mind. It's not at all trendy, nor a classic nor a favourite (when I looked up the lyrics I came across an Elbow song entitled Whisper Grass which would have been much hipper, but hey this is the song I thought of). My UK generation may remember this as a comedy song from the 70s but it was in fact written in 1940. This is the third verse, which is the one I remembered
"Why tell them all your secrets
Who kissed there long ago
Whispering grass, the trees don't need to know"
Yes, I am a sad muppet, but I dare you not to sing along

I am also using this for BB52 week 4 "Pockets of Light" as I love the light in the grass heads!

January 26th. While there is more snow up north, we have a beautiful sunny day. It is the holy Trinity day for mothers - a non work day, with sunshine and wind. Yes, I can hang my washing on the line to dry!! With 4 sporty children, believe me this helps my Aegean Stable task no end. However, you have no desire to see our smalls ( great word), I'm sure. I took the dog out and surprised these birds in a field; as they rose up, I whirled round and snapped a load of shots. Straight into the sun, so I have had to process this a little. I have also submitted this to the new Flickr Friday group for "Beyond the Horizon". It seemed apt.

January 9th. Wednesdays are my 'flexi' day. I can go in a little later. So I have the luxury of taking my youngest to the bus and seeing some daylight. This morning started sunny with lovely light. I still find myself attracted to water drops despite completing the refraction challenge. I had many shots of the multiple drops on the washing line reflecting in the light. I could have cropped this more but liked the fan effect of the lines. I have increased the contrast a little (Snapseed) just to highlight the drops.

December 23rd - so with slight hangovers we took the kids to the beach and had races (see back up shot). I have processed this in the style of one of my flickr contacts whose work I particularly admire. You know who you are!
