WAH are visiting porches.
I think the meaning may be a little different in the UK. Possibly because it rains a lot.
When we built onto the end of the house we built a porch in front of the entrance so we could have a lovely warm, clean and welcoming area for people to come into
It has of course become the repository for all coats, wellies. walking boots, sports bags, tools, bike kit, dog leads, head torches, hats, gloves, scarfs and random things that don't belong any where else. And lots of dried mud.
This was the best shot into it, hiding the mess.
