Another portrait of a woman from the Sheehy-Skeffington Photographic Collection and this time a young woman with a very intense gaze! Elisabeth Freeman appears to be a US citizen, and Mary is intrigued by the brooch/pendant she is wearing.

I've changed a line from a song for the title in this photo from the Mason Collection, but all references to him downstairs are banned in this Mary's house! It would appear that Paterson's produced a large selection of matches, and while today they are not quite as important as they once were, in their time the different types made life easy for those who used them!

A real novelty to begin this week with a photograph taken in Moscow in 1931. The "Red" revolution is well and truly over, Lenin is dead, and Josef Dzughashvili better known as "Stalin" has begun his reign of terror. Life goes on and a lady named Rosamond Jacob appears to have been able to visit and take a photograph. What can we find out about the building work and about the lady concerned.
