Continuing on with the Scottish Highlands series (of Autumn, 2017). Close to Glencoe, our last place of visit, we decided to relax at a roadside Inn with views of Loch Linnhe; and get an early start to visit Castle Urquhart, close to Inverness; known as the "Capital of the Highlands'' with a population of some 47,000.
The famous Castle Urquhart, with excellent views of Loch Ness, is about 100kms away, but we didn't want to rush it, in such a scenic place. We also stopped for breakfast at historic Fort William -- a stronghold, which still stands today, dating back to the late 1200s..
