Jen is a good friend and a willing and flexible muse. We had a backlog of ideas we wanted to execute and spent a Saturday working through them together.

This one is my favourite of the whole session. Her smile and self embrace show me a woman who feels beautiful and confident enough to celebrate her own body, unafraid to show her curves and rolls.

I'd been wanting to experiment with RGB flashes for a long time, and I finally got around to doing it with Jen. This is lit with bare speed lights left and right gelled red and green and a White Lightning Ultra 600 with the 7" reflector gelled blue behind and above the camera. The blue light was a little higher than the red and green lights. The Ultra was triggered with Pocket Wizards and the other two flashes were slaved optically.

Camera is the Fujifilm GFX 50SII. Lens is a Mamiya-Sekor NB 90mm f/3.8 for RB67 mounted to a Fotodiox Pro adapter. If I remember correctly I think it was set to about f/11 or so. I'm really impressed with the micro contrast and sharpness I'm getting from this quite vintage lens!

Procesed in Capture One Pro and touched-up in Photoshop.

Jen used to work at a record store many years ago. When we saw this image we figured that this would make a great album cover image.

Jen is a good friend and a willing and flexible muse. We had a backlog of ideas we wanted to execute and spent a Saturday working through them together.

This set up involved two Godox tube lights, one vertically and slightly low camera right with teal and the second above camera left set to orange.

Camera is the Fujifilm GFX 50SII and lens is the Mitakon 65mm f/1.4 shot wide open. Processed in Capture One Pro then Photoshop for the skin retouching.

Jen is a good friend and a willing and flexible muse. We had a backlog of ideas we wanted to execute and spent a Saturday working through them together.

This is an in camera multiple exposure using red green and blue gelled flashes in a single exposure. The centre exposure was made using all three flashes at once. Jen then moved her head to her left and the green face was exposed using only the green gelled flash camera right. She then moved her head to her right and the red face was exposed only using the red gleed flash camera left.

Lit with two bare speed lights gelled red and green (camera left and right respectively) and a White Lightening Ultra 600 with the 7" reflector gelled blue behind and above the camera. The Ultra 600 and the red flash were initially triggered with Pocket Wizards while the green gelled speed light was set to slave. The Pocket Wizards took care of the initial pop for all three flashes. The speed lights were then manually popped during the single 8 second exposure. Because the green gelled flash was set to slave I had to cover it with my hand while I popped the red flash.

Camera is the Fujifilm 50SII set to ISO 1000 and lens is the GF 35-70 zoom at f/8. Processed from raw with Capture One Pro and touched-up in Photoshop.
