I went chasing again with my storm chase crew and ran into some beautiful storms everywhere from Oklahoma to Iowa. This shot was taken between two supercells in the Oklahoma panhandle.

Tuesday, May 1st of 2018 started off with a moderate risk for severe storms being issued for much of western Kansas and the National Weather Service was right to issue such a warning. Later on in the afternoon and evening discrete storms began to fire off all along the dry line and many of them produced large hail, damaging straight line winds, and even tornadoes, like this storm near Tescott, Kansas. This storm began spinning hours before but didn't produce a tornado until around 7:45 pm. it initially took the form of a cone but within minutes grew into a massive wedge tornado that raced across the landscape. Here is an image of it in its final form before becoming wrapped in rain.

Went out to the Memorial Union on Sunday night to catch a good storm rolling in. Gave me quite the show and even dropped some hail.

On Saturday night we had a full moon and the skies were also clear so I set out to shoot some star trails. While I usually wait for the moon the moon to be in a lesser phase but I needed it to be big in order to light up the wind turbine poles in the distance. I was hoping to get the circular motion of the blades as they spun but unfortunately they were washed out by the night sky. The shot was still fun.

After finding out that a decent line of storms would roll through southern Wisconsin early Saturday morning, I couldn't sleep and decided to just wait it out and see what was in store. What a show is all I can say. Winds were sustained at 70+ mph for around 15 minutes before a torrential downpour took over.
