I've been here 9 years and the same pair of robins has been here all along. They have had a tough time, first a pair of merlins across the street; then a daycare below their nest; then boom lifts, trailers, trucks, loud noises during a major reconstruction.....right below their nest. The last couple of years they tried to find other spots to build their nest, ledges on the building.
This year they arrived 3 days before the eclipse and then THAT happened! Also, this year, they seem to be happy to see me. Saying hello from the gazebo roof. Not so leery of me. I hope they have an easier time this year.
