We don't see them very often, but we can hear them from far away by their peculiar low-pitched, metallic buzzing song coming out of the reeds. Savi's Warblers are quite beautiful, with a slender body and a big tail.

The Orange-tip (Anthocharis cardamines) is named L'Aurore in French and Aurorafalter in German, connecting this beautiful butterfly with the dawn or sunrise. It's easy to see why.

These are busy times for the Marsh harriers too. Couples are building their nests and of course, like this beautiful female, they keep a close watch on the premises.
Marsh harriers are impressive birds to observe in the air, with their wingspan of up to 130 cms.
