A view of Tùr Chliamhainn (St Clement's Church) at Rodel on the Isle of Harris. The church dates from the 15th century and was built for the Chiefs of the MacLeods of Harris.
From this location last year, with the heavy rain and low clouds, the church was not even visible. It only took a year to capture the image I wanted . . . persistence does pay off.
The view beyond Tùr Chliamhainn is of the Sound of Harris and the hills of North Uist.

After visiting the Clach Macleoid (MacLeod Standing Stone) I wandered to the elevated edge of the machair overlooking Traigh lar and spotted among the rocks this washed up creel and rope. I must have been quite the sight hustling down the sand dune and working my way amongst the rocks to get to the battered creel and weathered rope. When my other half ‘finally’ arrived where I was setting up, she saw the creel and said, “You’re taking a photo of THAT?!!”
This view on Na Hearadh (Isle of Harris) is from the northern rocky shore of Traigh lar. The hill across the Sound of Taransay is Ceapabhal. This battered creel may not be fit to catch lobsters any longer . . . but it caught my eye and interest as a photo possibility.
